Epiphone Les Paul 2010 Tribute SB upright

Epiphone 50 years Tribute

A High-Performance Tribute to 50 Years of a Legendary Standard to honor Les Paul’s innovations of so many years ago, Epiphone unveils the Tribute Les Paul Standard, a guitar that embodies Les Paul’s original vision, while offering several constructional and performance upgrades to suit the needs and expectations of today’s demanding players. Way back in the 1940s Les would visit the Epiphone factory on 14th Street in New York to work on his famous prototype of the solidbody electric guitar, the “Log”. The Tribute Les Paul Standard presents the culmination of Les Paul’s own dreams for the ultimate solidbody electric guitar, all wrapped up in an instrument that is still one of the most versatile and powerful guitars available today.

Authentic Features

The Tribute Les Paul Standard begins with the same successful recipe as the classic Les Paul Standard, the most desirable guitar on the planet, but Epiphone significantly "steps it up" on this tribute model. The guitar features historically accurate details such as the wider and more bend-friendly frets that arrived in 1959, an authentic non-chambered solid mahogany back and carved maple top, and a one-piece mahogany neck with tone-enhancing long neck tenon. Beyond the superior construction, however, Epiphone knows that players’ tastes vary, so the Tribute Les Paul Standard is available with two different neck profiles to suit individual preferences, a traditional "1960's" SlimTaper™ neck profile or an Asymmetrical neck profile. The "1960's" SlimTaper™ is a comfortable "D" shaped neck that was used and made famous on many 1960's era, Kalamazoo-made guitars from Gibson and Epiphone. The newer Asymmetrical neck has multiple radii and combines a more rounded "D" shape on the bass side of the neck with a flatter "C" shape on the treble side, resulting in an extremely comfortable neck that is more ergonomically contoured to fit the hands of most players.

 Gibson SGJ Cherry upright

Gibson SGJ CH Cherry

With bag.

As part of the 2013 Year of Les Paul celebrations, Gibson USA brings you a new SG model that’s available at an entry-level price to suit any budget. When it took over briefly from the Les Paul Standard in 1961, the SG was very much a part of Les Paul’s vision, and the SG remained an iconic Gibson electric even after the single-cutaway Les Paul Standard returned later in the decade. The SGJ offers all the ingredients that made the most desirable Les Paul Standards legendary—classic tonewoods, innovative hardware, two genuine humbucking pickups, and of course Gibson’s acclaimed build quality and playability—all wrapped up in a stripped-down, no-nonsense package that makes this guitar a flat-out performer. Simpler esthetics and a cool worn-look finish technique add up to big savings for the player, and the SGJ still looks great in your choice of Cherry, Chocolate, Hand-Rubbed Vintage Burst, or Hand-Rubbed Transparent White, all in grain-textured nitrocellulose lacquer.

Mahogany is one of the most revered tonewoods in the history of guitar making, with a rich, deep sound and a long tradition at Gibson USA, and it remains the cornerstone of the SGJ. The guitar’s body is crafted from solid mahogany in the iconic thin, lightweight offset-double-cutaway style, with distinctive “horns” and beveled edges for improved playing comfort. A neck made from hard-wearing maple is glued into the body and carved to a ’50s rounded profile that measures .818” at the 1st fret and .963” at the 12th. It is topped with a genuine rosewood fingerboard that carries 24 medium-jumbo frets to extend your playing reach, and elegant pearloid dot inlays. There’s no pickguard or fingerboard binding to clutter the straight-on, stripped-down look of the SGJ, while quality touches continue with a PLEK-cut nut made from black Corian™ to subtly echo the black top-hat knobs and black pickup rings and covers. The traditional back-angled headstock is silkscreened with a gold Gibson logo that stands out clear and proud.

A pair of Gibson’s popular Modern Classics™ humbucking pickups fire up the SGJ. The 490R in the neck position and 490T in the bridge are made to emulate PAF humbucker and modified to suit the needs of the contemporary guitarist, with Alnico II magnets and standard-wound coils for plenty of warmth and clarity and scorch and sizzle in your lead playing. An independent volume and tone control per pickup plus a three-way toggle selector switch allows a broad range of sonic variations, while Gibson USA’s legendary Tune-o-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece ensure solid sustain and outstanding intonation. A set of vintage-style tuners with black keys provides an impressive 16:1 gear ratio for precise and efficient tuning. Put it all together, and the new SGJ is the fastest road to a genuine Les Paul, sparing none of the tone, while putting the legend in your hands with far less load on your wallet.

Each guitar includes a black Gibson gigbag, owner’s manual and truss-rod wrench.

Gibson Les Paul Future Tribute WR Wine Red

With bag.

Gibson USA is celebrating 2013 as the Year of Les Paul, and is blowing it up big with a new series of decade-dedicated Tribute Les Pauls, each of which honors the artistry and innovation of inventor and guitarist Les Paul by capturing the essence of a great Les Paul guitar from one of four different eras. All embody the full magic of this legendary guitar design, but are stripped down for improved value and no-nonsense performance. The Les Paul Future Tribute captures the look, feel, and tone of the guitar world’s most legendary single-cutaway solidbody, and equips it for the player of the future—making it available today. Primed for optimum playability and versatility, the Les Paul Future Tribute carries a pair of “zebra-coil” ’57 Classic™ humbucking pickups for a blend of vintage warmth and contemporary articulation, along with a superbly comfortable custom asymmetrical neck profile. Gibson’s acclaimed bridge and tailpiece team up with futuristic Steinberger™ gearless tuners to ensure smooth playability and precise tuning and intonation. And, like all Les Paul and SG 2013 Tribute Series guitars, the Les Paul Future Tribute is available upgraded with Min-ETune™ automated “Robot” tuners for a nominal upcharge. The Les Paul Future Tribute looks great in your choice of Vintage Sunburst, Wine Red, Ebony Black, or Goldtop finish, all in Vintage Gloss nitro-cellulose lacquer.

The Les Paul Future Tribute takes the classic platform of the original Les Paul Standards forward into the 21st century by starting with the timeless tonewood combination of a mahogany body with solid carved maple top. When paired, these woods offer a tonal depth and complexity unmatched by any single-wood construction, with warmth and richness from the mahogany, and superb clarity and “snap” from the maple, all of which translates to surprising breadth and articulation within the guitar’s amplified voice. The mahogany back is strategically weight relieved using modern weight relief methods to both lighten your load and improve resonance. A solid mahogany neck is glued into the body in Gibson’s time-tested tradition, and carved to an ergonomic and superbly comfortable new asymmetrical profile that fits the natural shape of the human hand, with depths of .800” at the 1st fret and .875” at the 12th, making this one of the most playable Les Pauls yet created. It is topped with a genuine rosewood fingerboard that carries 22 medium-jumbo frets and traditional trapezoid inlays. In keeping with the stripped-down ethos of this powerful performer, both body and ’board remain unbound, and there’s no pickguard to obscure the finish. A PLEK-cut nut made from black Corian™ subtly complements the knurled chrome knobs and black pickup rings, while enhancing resonance and sustain. The headstock is silkscreened with a gold Gibson logo and Les Paul Model.

The Les Paul Future Tribute ensures its sonic versatility and hot looks with a pair of zebra-coil ’57 Classic humbucking pickups, consisting of a standard-wound humbucker in the neck position and a slightly over-wound ’57 Classic Plus for hotter lead tones in the bridge position. The ’57 Classics begin in the image of Gibson’s esteemed PAF humbuckers, with genuine Alnico 2 magnets and 42-AWG enamel-coated wire, but are enhanced with evenly matched coils for a smooth, singing tone, and wax potting to combat microphonic squeal at high volume levels. The result is a pickup that is thick, rich, and warm, yet clear and articulate—perfect for the broad demands of today’s music. The traditional wiring complement of an independent volume and tone control per pickup plus a three-way toggle selector switch allows a broad range of sonic variations. To anchor it all down, Gibson USA loads in a classic Tune-o-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece, then rams it all into the future with a set of super-efficient Steinberger™ gearless tuners, a hardware set that partners up for solid sustain and precision tuning. Put it all together, and the Les Paul Future Tribute presents the perfect way to celebrate the Les Paul in the 21st century, wrapping it all into a great guitar that brings the look, feel, and sound of a classic Les Paul to the hands of the demanding players of today.

Each guitar includes a black Gibson gigbag, owner’s manual and truss-rod wrench.

Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Caramel Burst upright

Gibson Les Paul Traditional + Top CM Caramelburst

With case.

As part of the 2013 Year of Les Paul celebrations, Gibson USA has revamped the popular Les Paul Traditional, giving some fresh twists to its timeless blend of stellar tones, great looks, and unrivaled playability. The New Les Paul Traditional wraps several crucial features into a classic Les Paul that always just seemed right, echoing the specs of guitars that rocked the world through the 1980s and ’90s. The New Les Paul Traditional’s tonewood combination retains the great sound of the original Les Paul Standard, with an unchambered back for a thick, meaty tone and superb sustain. Its rounded late-’50s neck shape reflects one of the most popular profiles ever used on a Les Paul. Two PAF-style humbucking pickups with Orange Drop tone capacitors give no end of power and finesse. All this, and the new Les Paul Traditional looks outrageous with its Grade-AA figured maple top beneath a new Honey Burst, Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Caramel Burst, Light Burst, or Chicago Blue finish, all in high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer.

The New Les Paul Traditional is built on a foundation of the same traditional tonewood combination that helped to make the Les Paul Standard legendary when it first arrived six decades ago. A carved solid Grade-AA figured maple top lends bite and articulation to the sound while looking great in the process, and a solid, mahogany back without weight relief contributes superb warmth and depth. A quarter-sawn, Grade-A mahogany neck is glued in and carved in a comfortably rounded late-’50s profile that measures .900” at the 1st fret and 1.00” at the 12th, and topped with a bound Grade-A rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets and traditional trapezoid inlays. Traditional touches include cream body and fingerboard binding, pickguard, and pickup rings, along with gold Speed Knobs with dial pointers. Classic Gibson construction ensures optimum playability, too, along with traditional specs like a 24 ¾” scale length, a 1 11/16” width across the PLEK-cut Corian™ nut, and a 12-inch fingerboard radius for smooth, easy bending.

Pure vintage-voiced tone with a contemporary edge is assured by a pair of Gibson’s ’57 Classic™ pickups with traditional chromed covers. Both are made in the image of the hallowed PAF humbucker of the late 1950s with Alnico II magnets, a traditional wind in the neck position for plenty of warmth and clarity, and slightly over-wound coils in the ’57 Classic Plus™ in the bridge position for juicy crunch and wailing lead tones. Both pickups are wax potted, too, to avoid microphonic squeal at high volume levels, and routed through Orange Drop tone capacitors to their individual tone controls for a smooth, rich high-end roll off. The innovative pairing of a Tune-o-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece ensures solid sustain and precise intonation, while a set of high-quality TonePros™ vintage-style ensures smooth, accurate tuning.

Each guitar includes a Gibson hardshell case covered in black snakeskin-textured vinyl, an owner’s manual, and truss-rod wrench.

Gibson Marshall 50th anniversary of marshall les paul goldtop electric guitar

Gibson 50th Anniversary Marshall Les Paul GoldTop

Guitar only

They might have originated from two very different companies on the opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean, but the Gibson Les Paul and Marshall amplifiers were a marriage made in rock heaven right from the start. From the time Jim Marshall put his name on the first fire-breathing JTM45 head in 1962, it was clear that this was the amp the Les Paul had been waiting for, and later that decade—and throughout those to follow—stars like Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Paul Kossoff, Slash, Zakk Wylde, and countless others would make groundbreaking music ramming their Les Pauls through a range of roaring Marshall amps. To celebrate 50 Years of the most iconic amplifier brand in the history of rock, Gibson Custom and Marshall Amplification are proud to introduce the very Limited Edition 50th Anniversary of Marshall Les Paul Goldtop. Based on the highly sought-after Gibson Custom Shop 1957 Les Paul Reissue Goldtop, this guitar will be produced in a strictly limited run of 50 pieces worldwide, each one hand-aged by Tom Murphy. The 50th Anniversary of Marshall Les Paul Goldtop will be available only through an exclusive network of 50 Gibson Custom and Marshall dealers, alongside the Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Bluesbreaker (1962LE) amplifier by Marshall Amplification. From select tonewoods, to PAF-style pickups, to trim details and playing feel, the 50th Anniversary of Marshall Les Paul Goldtop captures one of the most desirable vintage Les Pauls of all time, and adds commemorative details that make it a must for any true collector and the perfect partner to Marshall's Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Bluesbreaker (1962LE).

Under the surface of this celebration showpiece, the 50th Anniversary of Marshall Les Paul Goldtop is first and foremost a player's guitar. It begins with the iconic combination of a premium select lightweight one-piece mahogany body and a two-piece carved maple top for the perfect marriage of depth and clarity. The look of an original '50s Goldtop is captured in Gibson Custom's hand-sprayed nitrocellulose finish, and the entire guitar is then hand-aged by Tom Murphy to perfectly replicate the gently aged appearance of an original 1957 Les Paul Model guitar. Vintage-correct cream body binding is matched by a commemorative cream plastic pickguard hot-stamped with a "Marshall 50th" badge and a two-ply black-white truss rod cover hot-stamped with Jim Marshall’s signature. The one-piece, quarter-sawn mahogany neck is glued in with a long tenon for enhanced resonance and sustain and carved to a rounded ’50s profile that measures .900" at the first fret and 1.000" at the 12th. One of several period-correct details, the rosewood fingerboard carries 22 vintage reissue frets, tortoise side dots, a nylon 6/6 nut, and is trimmed with .004" cream binding and inlaid with nitrocellulose trapezoids, plus the iconic "Marshall" script logo gracing the 12th fret position. To make the 50th Anniversary of Marshall Les Paul Goldtop supremely playable, the neck is Plek'd at the factory for optimum action and playing feel.

With the look of a rare original 1957 Les Paul fully assured, Gibson Custom goes all out to give the 50th Anniversary of Marshall Les Paul Goldtop all the tone and performance of a prized vintage guitar. The BurstBucker 1 in the neck position and BurstBucker 2 in the bridge are made with genuine Alnico II magnets and wound with 42 AWG wire, with slightly mismatched coils, just like the legendary PAF humbuckers of the late '50s, for a characteristic edge and complexity that is unmatched by modern humbucking pickups.

Between them, these pickups yield the throaty warmth and crunchy sting that has made late-'50s Les Pauls legendary. Another subtle feature is the incorporation of Marshall's proprietary input jack that is mounted to a cream Les Paul reissue jackplate. A lightweight aluminum stopbar tailpiece and Tune-o-matic bridge are plated in nickel, also gently aged, and offer the optimum combination of sustain and adjustability. A set of vintage-style tuners with green keys completes the look. Each 50th Anniversary of Marshall Les Paul Goldtop will be sequentially numbered from 1 to 50, and comes protected in a brown pleather hardshell case with a 'Marshall' silkscreen and red-fur interior. Each guitar includes a leather-bound Gibson and Marshall Certificate of Authenticity, an owner's manual and adjustment literature.
